In the dust of our homes, on average, live 7,000 species of bacteria and 2,000 species of fungi, announced the scientists from the University of Colorado.

The results were obtained when analyzing the dust of 1200 households in the United States. It was found that the average household has about 2,000 species of fungi.

Among the best known are mold: apsergillus, Penicillium, Alternaria and Fusarium. Most fungi in the house came from the outside. We bring them in clothing or they come by flying through the windows.

It was found that the average household inhabited by approximately 7,000 species of bacteria. Pets also affect the number and variety of bacteria.

Only from the sample of dust scientists are 92 percent able to determine if there is a pet in the particular house.
